The idea

Every year during the sports holidays, many children from all different school classes go to various camps or their parents go on a well-deserved vacation. Even so, many children stay at home with their parents during this time. For this reason the "Grümpi" League© created the School "Grümpi" Cup© for school classes. How does it work? Just read on! :-)

We will not earn any money with this event, that is our promise, on the contrary .......

....... half of the income goes back as prize money for the class cashier of the winners, trophies, medals and we donate CHF 2,000 to the respective school.
(we will publish)

League management

How does the School "Grümpi" Cup© work?

Every year 32 school classes from all over Switzerland are allowed to register. However, every year a different year of participation is announced in order to guarantee all school classes the opportunity to participate and so that the tournament does not get too big.

In the first School "Grümpi" Cup© 2023, the years 2011 to 2012 (boys and girls) will be considered and eligible to participate.

A school class is considered registered when the following points are met:
- Registration within the registration period (until August 31, 2022) by the teacher or the school management
- Recognition of all points in these regulations by the teacher or the school management
- Timely transfer of the participation fee by the teacher or the school management

Each school class is registered by the respective teacher or school management, who can only request the registration form via (button above or below). Every school class with the corresponding year may take part in the School "Grümpi" Cup©. The classes may also be mixed with girls and boys, but only from the same school house. Each school class can register a maximum of 10 children.

If a school class does not comply with these rules, it can be disqualified from the School "Grümpi" Cup© with immediate effect. All games in this class are rated with a 0: 3 defeat.

If a registered school class withdraws before or during the tournament, the participation fee already paid will be forfeited. In the case of external influences such as; War, natural disasters or pandemics (Covid-19) where the tournament has to be canceled, the paid participation fees will be refunded.

Each child receives a medal as a souvenir. The school class that wins the School "Grümpi" Cup©:

1st place  prize of CHF 1,500 / trophy / medals for each child
2nd place  cup / medals for each child
3rd place  cup / medals for each child
4th to 32nd place  medals for each child

Game mode

The 32 school classes are divided into 8 groups with 4 teams each (group SGC-1 to SGC-8). In the group phase, a round-trip round is played (6 games per team). The first two from each group advance to the second round, for the remaining teams the tournament is over

* Round of 16, two-way leg (to be drawn)
* Quarter-finals, return leg (to be drawn)
* Semi-finals first and second leg (to be drawn)
* Final only one game

School classes that have already met in the group stage cannot meet in the round of 16. These restrictions no longer apply after the quarter-finals.

The following criteria are decisive for the routing:
1. Higher score (3 point rule)
2. Better goal difference
3. Higher number of hits
4. Direct encounter

Win = 3 points, tie = 1 point, loss = 0 points

Rules of the game

6 children play per school class, 1 of them goalkeeper and 5 field players. The remaining 4 children are considered substitutes. Only 10 children are allowed to play per school class. The official football rules of the SFV (Swiss Football Association) apply with the following changes:
1. The playing time is 6 minutes twice without changing sides
2. It can be changed on the fly, whereby the change must always take place in one's own half of the pitch and there must never be more than 6 children per team on the field
3. The offside and back pass rules are abolished
4. Girls' goals count double
5. In the event of no-show, late arrival (after kick-off), as well as with fewer than 4 children, the game is lost with 0: 3 goals forfait
6. Shin guards are compulsory for all children
7. Only sneakers are allowed (however a black sole is not allowed)

The camisole of every school class are uniform. If two school classes with similar bibs compete against each other, the second named team must play with an overcoat. The teacher or the school management must ensure that the classes have either numbers or names on their backs so that they are easily recognizable for the referee. The sleeve areas and the chest area on the right must not be printed and must be kept free for the School "Grümpi" Cup©. Every registered school class receives badges, which they have to put on their bibs by their parents in the designated positions before the start of the tournament.

Misconduct and gross unsportsmanlike conduct by children are punished as follows:
- first yellow card = CHF 10.- (plus 2 minutes time penalty)
- second yellow card = CHF 25.- (plus expulsion, the excluded child may not be replaced by another for the current game)
- after a total of four yellow cards there is a game ban
- red card = CHF 100.- (expulsion, the excluded child may not be replaced by another for the current game and is blocked for two games)
- three red cards with the same child during the cup, according to which this child will be disqualified from the School "Grümpi" Cup© and no longer allowed
- five red cards from the same school class during the cup, according to which this school class has been disqualified from the School "Grümpi" Cup© and will no longer be admitted

The above-mentioned penalty fees are paid to the league management via a payment slip within 10 days of the respective game by the teacher or the school management of the respective school class.

Participation fees

The participation fees are per school class for participation in the School "Grümpi" Cup©:

- per school class = CHF 250.00 (with 10 children, CHF 25.00 per child)

This fee is charged every year to be eligible to play, the only ones who are waived the fee are the winners of the School "Grümpi" Cup©.

Cases not provided for in these regulations will be decided by the league management. The decisions of the referees must be strictly adhered to. School classes that do not comply with these regulations will be disqualified immediately by the league management.

Protests must be submitted in writing with a deposit of CHF 300 to the league management within 48 hours of the game in question. The league management assesses the protest neutrally and if it is recognized, the deposit will be refunded.

Accident insurance is the responsibility of the teacher or the respective school management. The league management assumes no liability or responsibility for accidents, injuries and thefts of any kind. The number of participants is limited to 32 school classes and will be taken into account once registrations have been received.
